St Anton am Arlberg - the cradle of alpine skiing, also arouses enthusiasm in summer. Holiday-makers in St Anton am Arlberg treasure the alpine cosiness at 1,300m altitude as much as the hospitality and international character. The new multi-functional sports and climbing centre, arl.rock, a gondola lift with ferris wheel, the Wellness Centre ARLBERG-well.com, a walking area with a seal of quality, numerous events and the excellent guest service are the ingredients for an unforgettable vacation in St Anton am Arlberg.

A variety of events take place, particularly in summer, which offer the opportunity to experience the love of nature and warmth of the locals. For example, at the St Anton Village Festival which takes place from 18th to 19th July at which several local associations tempt the guests to sample Tyrolean delicacies or buy traditional crafts at the stands in the pedestrian zone. Guests from far and near are welcome to the Church Days in St Jakob on 25/26th July, Pettneu on 15th August, Flirsch on 23rd August and in Schnann on 6th September.

What could be more beautiful and original than an alpine pasture celebration? The dairy farmer and his dairymaids look forward to summer visitors at the traditional musical celebrations which take place three times this summer on 30th July, 6th and 13th August.

Folk music enthusiasts should make a note of the Arlberg Day of Folk Music on 15th August as well as the excellent District Music Tent Festival which takes place in St Anton am Arlberg on the weekend of 7th to 9th August.

When the mountain summer slowly comes to an end and the first leaves start to change colour the decorated cows return to the valley. Adorning the cows is an indication of a smooth and accident-free summer on the alpine pastures. This is celebrated with a traditional Alm parade and farmers’ festival on 19th September, a day on which locals and guests say goodbye to the summer and welcome the autumn.
